Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojana:- This Scheme was implemented on 2nd October, 2008. Under this scheme, free residential plots of 100 Sq. yards each are being allotted to eligible SCs, BCs (A) and BPL families. Sites, on which these plots are located, are developed with necessary infrastructural facilities including power supply, drinking water, paved streets. As on date 3.75 lakhs families have been conferred ownership rights through execution of gift deed. The development of internal roads and drains under the scheme has been converged with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The Govt. intends to provide funds for laying the water pipelines and electricity lines in these bastis.
An amount of Rs.246.45 crores were released for taking up development works in these bastis from the year 2009-10 to 2015-16. During the year 2016-17 an amount of Rs.74.89 crores have been made available to lower and PHED for providing basic facilities of electricity and water to these basties. In the year 2017-18, an amount of Rs.30.00 crores were sanctioned in the revised budget, out of which Rs.9.49 crores were released. During the present Govt. tenure an amount of Rs.197.09 crores have been spent. An amount of Rs.50.00 crores has been made for the year 2018-19. An amount of Rs.10.99 crores has been released. An amount of Rs.47.11 crores has been released during the year 2019-20. A budget provision of Rs. 30.00 crores has been made for the year 2020-21. An amount of Rs. 12.08 crores has been released. Annuity of Rs.10000/- per acre per year is also being given to the Gram Panchayat whose land has been utilized for allotment of plot.
