Haryana Gramin Vikas Yojana: - This is a State plan scheme which came into existence in 1970-71. It was transferred by Social welfare department in the year 1991-92 to Development and Panchayats department. The aim of promoting Chaupals is to provide a common plate form to the communities for celebrating their community functions like marriages, festivals and to discuss the issues of common importance. The development of villages like pavement of streets, drainage, community centers, cremation grounds, boundary wall and retaining wall of ponds, rasta of khet, treatment plants under NGT, Shivdham, Park cum vyamshala etc. having population less than 10000(approximately 6189 villages) will be taken up under this scheme. Special Development works scheme has also been merged in Haryana Gramin Vikas Yojana in the year 2020-21. A budget provision of Rs. 860 crores has been made for the year 2020-21. An amount of Rs. 305 crores has been utilized .
